In the ’80’s I played D&D, in 2015 I started playing Pathfinder. My first introduction was playing a Witch/Sorceress. She was a good witch during the day, and an evil-ish sorceress at night. Playing the witch was much more work trying to manage all the spell. At each new level I got new spells – cool. But every day I needed to write out a list of prepared spells. Then keep track during combat. And since a witch/wizard plays a support role, I needed to keep track of who I had cast spells on, and how long the effect lasted. As I leveled up, the spell list became longer and longer. The prep became more complex. And I wanted a way to makes lists of the spells I’d use in common situations – like fighting undead or when in a dungeon. Spells that open doors are not much use in the forest. So I wanted pre-made prep lists that I could just pull out as prepared lists. So, all these issues plagued me … until I wrote SpellShooter – the first app to help spell casters.
SpellShooter allows you to:
Look up spells and ADD them to your spell book.
Level Up and update your spell limits – instantly.
One click resets your spell slots, then prep your spells by double clicking from your spell book.
Every spell you cast is tracked based on it’s duration and who you cast it on – automatically.
But is gets even better. On non-game nights, you can make prepared lists like: vs Undead, In the Forest, In a Dungeon, In Town. List you can recall with just a click. Prep these lists ahead of time, and have them ready for game night. SpellShooter can also print the list of prepared spells or write them to HTML files for use on your website, phone or tablet. The desktop version creates interactive web pages that allow casters to track spell usage, switch prepared lists and prep for the day. If you only use a phone on game night, you can still benefit from SpellShooter until the phone versions are complete.
Currently SpellShooter runs on the Mac, Windows, Linux and even Raspberry Pi for Pathfinder. I am working on updates to add D&D spells, the Web version, then Android and iOS. IF you buy SpellShooter, you can help fund the next versions. Anyone who funds a level, will get that version for free. I expect to deliver one version every month or so. Currently the Web, D&D update are 90% done. The Android version is 50% done and iOS version is 40% complete.
I hope you like SpellShooter as much as I do.
