There are lots of great features to an iPad. Perhaps you are unaware of all it can do right now, but you can change that. It is important to know how to use your iPad, including how to find applications and use them well. Don’t stop reading now!
Running Apps
It is easy to access all of the running apps on your iPad. Double clicking on your Home button will bring up a bar along the bottom of the screen displaying all of your currently running apps. To switch between apps, just tap the one you want to access. Swipe downwards to hide the bar again.
Soft reset your iPad if it freezes. Press the power and the home buttons together for a few seconds. You’ll see the screen go black and then a white apple will appear. To force an app closed, hold down the home button around a few seconds.
You can easily see what apps are running on your iPad. A lot of the apps on your iPad can run behind the scenes while you work on other things. To check what is running on the iPad, just double click the Home button. The apps which are currently running appear in the bar located low on your screen. To make the bar disappear, swipe downward.
Did you just launch a noisy app by mistake? Muting your volume is as simple as pressing and holding the volume button down. If you find yourself needing to mute sound frequently, you may want to set up the orientation lock button to work as a muting control.
If constant barrages of Wi-Fi notifications are making you crazy, make some adjustments in “settings.” You will see the choice that asks if you want to join networks. Pick that option, and you will not see notifications any longer.
It’s essential that you know how to treat your iPad. Never use your iPad in bright sunlight and do not leave it in your hot car. The heat will damage the battery. Keeping your iPad away from water is rule number two. A cover is a wise investment for your iPad.
Phone Numbers
Set up your FaceTime emails and phone numbers. By default, FaceTime on your iPad will include the email that you set the iPad up with, but you can add more. If there are several phone numbers or emails that you need FaceTime to know, set them up inside your iPad settings.
When you want to copy and then paste text, tap it and click Select. Then click Copy, go where you want to paste, then tap again. Another popup menu will appear. Choose “paste,” and you’re done. You can also highlight a whole paragraph; tap it around four times.
The auto-brightness setting can help your battery last longer between recharges. Then, the iPad adjusts the lighting to its surroundings. The iPad’s backlight gobbles up battery, so this function can easily extend the amount of time that you can use the iPad before charging it. Locate this setting in the area that is labeled “Brightness & Wallpaper”.
Your new iPad comes preloaded with a lot of apps that you might not wish to use. Unfortunately, some of them cannot be erased. You can put them in a folder and location where they won’t be in your way. This helps keep them out of your way.
Your first instinct when taking photos with an iPad is to hold it by its sides. Holding the sides will make the shutter button move and ruin your picture. Use the orientation lock on your iPad. Doing so keeps the button right by your thumb. After you’ve snapped the picture, use the image editor and rotate the picture to your liking.
Do you want your lock key to stop your tablet screen from turning, or to mute the sound? Please note, early iPad versions don’t have this feature. If you are running the operating system iOS at 4.3 or later, you can. Holding down your iPad’s volume-down button also mutes the device.
Running Apps
To view running apps, simply double click the home button. That allows you to access a bar containing all running apps. When you close those you’re not using down, your battery will stay charged for longer.
Tabs can help you browse more efficiently. You do not need to leave the site you’re on in order to go to a link. Pressing and holding a link will open up a menu with options. Then you can follow the new link in a brand new tab, and the current page stays open too.
